Quyen Nguyen is the Coordinator of Asian American Affairs for the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA). Quyen's inspiration to pursue a Master in Adult and Higher Education with an emphasis on Performance Learning and Development is from her various involvement with different organizations and taking on leadership roles. She was president of the Vietnamese Student Associations and Phi Delta Alpha Sorority during her undergraduate years at the University of Oklahoma. She essentially got involved nationally and became director of programming for the Union of North American Vietnamese Student Associations (UNAVSA), an organization that fundraises close to $100,000 for a collective philanthropy every year. She was also selected as an Oklahoma advocate to attend the Southeast Asian Resource Action Center Leadership Advocacy and Training conference where individuals with an Asian-descent background from all over the nation come together to resolve issues that minorities face in the realms of health, education, and immigration. She also interned with OU's human resource department where she focused on developing leadership content, facilitating trainings and workshops, and efficiently managing programs and events. Her main research focus was on conflict resolution, effective virtual leadership, and organizational training and development.
